Juices for Diabetes

It is generally believed that once you have diabetes you cannot take any juice. This is a common misconception. There are some juices that help in controlling your diabetes.

Here is a list of those juices. Make a blend by combining a combination of these juices so that it is easier to consume.

  • Bitter Gourd or Bitter Melon Juice: Bitter Gourd has tons of the vitamins B1, B2, B3 and C and also rich in minerals like iron, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc and manganese. The hypoglycemic compounds in bitter gourd is highly beneficial in lowering sugar levels in blood and urine and is believed to promote glucose tolerance and to control levels of insulin.
  • String Bean Juice: String beans are rich in potassium and is helpful in restoring pancreatic health.
  • Brussels Sprout Juice: lowers the blood sugar levels by stimulating the production of insulin.
  • Amla Juice or Indian Gooseberry Juice: Amla has a rich anti-oxidant content and rich in Vitamin C and helpful in keeping diabetes under control.
  • Curry Leaf Juice: Taking curry leaf juice in empty stomach is believed to remedy diabetes related to hereditary.
  • Pomegranate Juice: High antioxidants in pomegranate juice might be extremely effective in decreasing the chance of atherosclerosis which is the hardening of the arteries and hence reduce the risk of coronary complications associated with diabetes
  • Tomato Juice: Tomatoes are low in carbohydrates and help control the glucose level in the urine

Make sure to limit the intake of juices to a few ounces at a time. If you have diabetes spread the intake of juices throughout your day instead of everything at a time .

Juices for Common Cold Remedy

  • Pineapple Juice: Pineapples are rich in Vitamin C and they help to break down the mucus. So pineapple juice is an excellent remedy for cold.
  • Cranberry Juice
  • Lemon Juice: Lemons are rich in Vitamin C and is an important home remedy for common cold. Mix it with honey and warm water and keep sipping for immediate relief. Mix ginger and lemon juice for relief from scratchy throat.
  • Garlic Juice: Garlic contains antiseptic and antispasmodic properties. The oils in garlic help open up the respiratory passages and is very effective in the treatment of common cold.
  • Ginger Juice: Ginger juice provides excellent relief for cough and cold. Mix fresh ginger juice with honey and take a tablespoon every few hours.
  • Tulsi or Holy Basil Juice: Tulsi juice is used commonly in traditional Indian medicine to cure common cold and cough.
  • Orange Juice: Vitamin C in orange juice is good for cold.
  • Pomegranate Juice: Pomegranate juice is rich in antioxidants and boosts the body's immunity to fight against common cold.
  • Watercress Juice: Watercress juice has properties to relive chest cold.
  • Apple Juice: Apple helps to relieve congestion and runny nose.
  • Celery Juice: Celery juice mixed with lemon juice remedies common cold.
  • Lime Juice: Lime juice is rich in vitamin C and added to honey to relieve cold symptoms. Lime juice can also be added to coconut milk to relieve chest congestion.
  • Dark Red Grapes: Helps with congestion.

  • Lemon juice: is an excellent blood purifier

  • Mango juice: mixed with ginger juice is used in parts of India as a blood purifier
